manuscript assessment for crime, thriller, mystery and suspense authors

Manuscript assessment

A manuscript assessment discusses the big-picture aspects in your story, and uses examples from your work to illustrate which elements are working and which areas need attention. You will be able to use this feedback to revise your manuscript in readiness for further rounds of revision or line/copyediting.

I will read through your story and write a report (usually 8–12 pages). Please note that a manuscript assessment does not include any inline comments or line/copyediting. If you require a detailed analysis  of your manuscript, I recommend a full developmental edit.

Price: £10 per 1,000 words (subject to seeing whole manuscript)

For example, a novel of 71,000 words would be priced at £710.

My rates are in line with the minimum hourly rates suggested by the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
