What does editing cover?

I look at your story line by line, smoothing the flow and sense. Typically, this covers:

  • Point of view and head-hopping
  • Use of tenses
  • Repetition and redundancy
  • Showing and telling
  • Overwriting
  • Dialogue effectiveness
  • Character description
  • Consistency of character traits and identifying any obvious plot holes
  • Sentence length
  • Consistent style
  • Grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Use of inclusive language
